So, my college buddy Ruhiyyih thought that it had been too long since I had posted and she was right. So, in an effort to remedy that, she tagged me in a post on her blog. As to not disappoint my loyal fan base and to get SOMETHING new posted to my blog, here are my 6 random things.
THE RULES:
1- Post the rules on your blog
2- List 6 random things about yourself.
3- Tag 6 people at the end of your post.
4- Let each person know they have been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
5- Let the tagger know when your entry is up.
1. My first car was a 1975 Silve Dodge Colt, 5-speed that I bought for $300. It died on Prom Night while my date and his friend were on the way back from getting pictures taken. So they were standing next to this little old car in tuxes, when the cops stopped by to see what was wrong. The result was a call to my house, where the local police asked my mom if she knew my best friend. As my prom date (& best friend at the time) and I were well known for getting into trouble, my mom was pretty leary when she received a call from the cops asking if she knew him. :)
2. When I was 16, I dated a 23 year old Mormon guy who was in the Army because my best friend wanted to go to the movies with her older, military boyfriend and telling this guy that I wanted to meet him was the only way her boyfriend would be able to get a ride there.
3. When I was 9, I was in Heathrow airport in London with my parents and saw Rod Stewart walking by. We flew out of London on the day that Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew were getting married and I still have a local tabloid from that day with their pictures on the cover. On this trip, we also stayed in a bed and breakfast that was directly across the street from the race track that was used in the movie Chariots of Fire. (I have yet to see the movie.)
4. When my aunt Jackie got married to my Uncle Steve, I was about 10 and I refused to dance at their wedding reception until all of the guests were gone. I finally got out on the dance floor to the song "Celebration" and regretted not dancing sooner. To this day, I can't hear that song without thinking about that day. And my mother STILL reminds me of it when I face a situation that I don't want to do but that she knows I will enjoy in the end.
5. The attendants at my wedding held lightsabers up like swords over mine and my husband's head to begin our recessional and we walked out to the Star Wars theme song. (no, not the Vader theme) It is probably still the highlight moment of the day.
6. When I was in junior high, I was a member of the Style Board at our local mall. I got to model in fashion shows, have my own photo shoot and pretend to be a silent mannequin in the middle of the mall. It was my one opporunity I got to live out my dream of being a model and I loved every minute of it!! :)
