Welcome Joshua

Our little man entered the world at 7:14pm on Saturday, February 26th at exactly 38 weeks gestation.  He came in about 2 hours of labor and the midwife made it through the door about 5 minutes before his head delivered.  Everything has been perfect from the beginning.  He weighed 8lbs, 11oz, just like his sister and was between 20.5 and 21 inches long.  He is a little talker, mostly in his sleep (which is does very well) and his big sister adores him!!!  Yay!!!

Welcome to the family, baby man!!

On a very important side note. . . because Joshua was born early, I only have 15 days of paid leave from work (aside from the 6 months of partially paid leave I was hoping to get via Aflac had he been born on or after March 1st).  I can not imagine having to return to work so quickly and at this point in time, we can not afford for me to not work so needless to say, we are feeling a little bit desperate, despite the tremendous joy.  So, we would ask you for whatever prayers, positive thoughts, encouragement, ideas, etc... you can offer for us to find a way to elongate my leave.  We need divine provision for sure and peace in our hearts amidst it all.  We know that we are blessed and we are trying to trust the God we believe in to be our hope, our strength, our rest and our provider.

Congratulations!! He is GORGEOUS!

I will definetly be praying - I wish there was more I could do to help. 15 days of leave is definetly NOT long enough!!

He is so beautiful! WOW what an amazing birth! I will need to rack your brain when it comes time for us to have a little one :)

Mandy I can totally hear your heart on the concern about the lack of time you have before having to return to work and all I can say is that we are praying for you guys (and wish we lived closer) and that God WILL provide. I read that paragraph and got a feeling in my spirit that Kenton's job situation is changing soon. Not sure what that is, but got the same feeling about Matt's work too and we are not even sure what is next for us either.

Enjoy your precious boy! We can't wait to meet him!

PS. Can you see if there is a paid time off donation program at your work? Just a thought! I know some folks would jump to help!

Dear Heavenly father I lift up Kenton and Mandy to you and ask that you give them peace, comfort and guidance regarding what is in store for them the next couple of weeks, months or years. Thank you father for another beautiful grandchild.

Yes, you should put your name in for shared leave. I don't know how much you could get, or if there are requirements, but you should do it...

And woo hoo!
